The Original tiramisù
Discover the history behind the most famous dessert and taste the Italian culinary tradition.
THE STORY OF A TYPICAL ITALIAN DESSERT
Here is the dessert that I love and which is the pride of the city of Treviso: Tiramisu, the original one.
Even if, even today, there are many who want to take credit for this creation, fortunately there are many texts that can confirm the historicity and provenance of this dessert, confirming that it was invented in the late 60s at the restaurant “Le Beccherie” by the pastry chef Roberto “Loly” Linguanotto. The pastry chef says that the mascarpone cream comes from "sbatudin", or egg yolk beaten with sugar, which was used by peasant families as a tonic; from here only the mascarpone was added which created this wonderful dessert.
More precisely, it was born with the Venetian name "tiramesù", later Italianized into "tiramisù". It is called this because of its nutritional properties or there are those who, more mischievously, think it has aphrodisiac effects.
TIRAMISU – WHY I LOVE THIS DESSERT
In addition to loving the explosive taste of this dessert, I feel it is part of my roots because it has always accompanied me in the best moments of my life.
It was the dessert that my grandmother taught me, with her secret and special recipe she made me grow up and for years I have been preparing it in my restaurants as a dessert on the menu.
Tiramisu, for me, will never be a simple dessert, but a happy moment, an indelible memory of the simplest and most special moments of my life.
